Damiana (Turnera diffusa) is native to Central and South America, Mexico and the Caribbean. It has been used in herbal medicines throughout history to treat a vast number of ailments including constipation, asthma and Parkinson's disease (to list just a few!). It is said to have a special effect on reproductive conditions including PMS and impotence, and has long been considered a potent aphrodisiac; hence its alternative Latin name, Turnera aphrodisiaca.
