Wormwood (Artemisia Absinthium)
Average Rating: Unrated
Wormwood (or Artemisia absinthium), one of the key ingredients of absinthe, is known for its sedative and painkilling effects.
It can be brewed into a tea or tincture, although this can taste unpleasant so it is advisable to flavour it with aniseed or peppermint. To extract the active ingredients with alcohol, soak 25g of the herb in 500ml vodka for one week. Strain and consume in small amounts to ensure a safe dose.
