Hash Oil?

Im currently growing 2 magic bud plants which are only half my height, and 1 ak-47 plant which is now taller than me.

I grew the ak-47 plant outside and although its fully grow its a bit sickly. It has a moderate amout of buds but seems to lack any THC.

I was thinking of turning it into pollen but then i heard about hash oil. I was wondering how to make this rediculously expensive stuff.

First of all, how much light is the plant getting? (the AK) And whats the soil like? Is it in a pot? Is it root-bound? (the roots occupy much of the soil and there is no room for new growth)

And what nutrients are you giving it? If you've given it nothing and just stuck it in the ground or in soil in a pot, you could try a bit of ash from your fireplace, or buy potash.

Natural/organic fertilizers are more preferable than chemical, because they encourage bacteria and beneficial life in your soil/growing medium.


I tell you these things because AK is a great strain and should have nice big colas of thick, sticky buds... and depending on how far along the plant is, you could still fatten her up.



But anyhow, onto hash oil. You can make it two ways.... With (pure) alcohol or with Butane.

I've never done it with alcohol, but THC dissolves well in it, so you just dry your buds for the proper length of time (at least a week, in darkness) so that theres chlorophyl left.... (buds turn from green to a more brownish colour) Then you grind or chop it up a bit, doesn't have to be finely chopped.... then you soak your buds in the alcohol overnight, shaking, or maybe just swirling the mixture around to make sure all the buds are soaking well, a couple of times will do.

After itsbeen mixed well and soaked overnight, strain out the bud/plant material (leaf, bud and  stem all have THC, buds containing the most) so that you are left with the liquid.

Then you just  evaporate the liquid, (NOT with flames or heat, unless you're stupid) leave it in a well ventilated area.

You'll be left with hash oil.



MY way of doing it is to pass supercritical (liquid, low boiling point. VERY low) butane through it and let the butane evaporate.

I get a mini m&ms container (m&m minis, whatever they're called) poke small holes in the bottom with a hot pin, and a hole inthe lid (the size of the butane cannister's tube/injector/thing, should fit snug/flush so no butane/hash-butane can escape.

Turn the can upside down on to the container, holding it over your catchment vessel (glass bowl or something you can scrape the sticky THC goo from easily) and start butane-ing.

The butane should be clear to start with, bubbling/boiling away as soon as it touches any thing warmer than like, -200 degrees celsius or something, and will make the catchment vessel very cold.

Oh yeah, put your dried, finely chopped trim/bud/leaf IN the m&ms container, dunno if I mentioned that,.... :S

Then when the butane passes through it, it should be greenish gold in colour..... beautiful, lovely golden honey oil.


as with the alcohol, let it evaporate ina well ventilated area.... as both aren't the best to breathe in and are highly flamable. (a mixture of butane and air inside a room is quite an efficient bomb! as with alcohol fumes/vapours)

This should leave a golden (hopefully) if not greenish (gold is pure, beautiful THC) sticky, resiny OIL~! The oil become darker to a black when thick (scrape across the bottom of the bowl and you'll see what I mean...)

Leave the vessel to totally evapourate overnight. 24 hours should be enough to make sure..... The butane will form bubbles when evaporating from the thickening oil.... Butane should, being the gas in most lighters, combust into CO2 and H2O etc (under ideal conditions) so a little left over shouldn't harm you much if you smoke it.... but its best to wait the 24 hours.... Have patience, its not heroin... you don't NEED it that bad.... and anyhow there will most likely be moisture left from the freezing of the bowl...



Wipe the oil on a paper and roll up, or get some on the end of a needle/pin (sewing needle etc. is ideal) and heat it slightly until it drips onto your pot/bowl/cone and fire away....

It is best not to let it catch fire... put the metal bit of a bic lighter over flame untill it goes out, when you smoke it in a cone/bowl...
