Being a good trip sitter

A couple of people I know are dropping acid tonight and I am going to hang out with them while they trip. I've never done acid before, and neither have they, so I'm wondering, what should I do? Especially if things should go bad. I figure I'll just sit with em and make sure they don't hurt anything and help them out if they start to freak, but what else should I do?

I think the best thing you can do is try and be as invisible as possible.

When SWIM trips, he can't stand people trying to do things to him in the interest of comedy, such as making stupid faces, poking him, etc. He also can't stand people even talking sometimes. Trips can be quite introspective (especially on salvia) so a bit of quiet on your part would be great.

What you need to do as a sitter is basically watch out for the other person. Keep all sharp objects/naked flames/etc out of their way and basically keep them from harm. This could even include pinning them down if they think trying to fly would be the best idea since sliced bread.

Also if they have a bad trip, try telling them that it's only due to a chemical they've taken and it'll all be over in X hours.

I agree, apart from the very last part.

If they're going to be tripping for another 4 hours, then telling them that probably isnt the best idea - but letting them know that its only a chemical and it will wear off is a good idea..

Everything went pretty well up until about the 5th hour of the trip when my friend was convinced he would die of a hangover and sleep deprevation.  Finally got him calmed down and now he's ok.  The night was good though, he was tripping balls and me and my other friend just chilled and smoked some reefer .
